The Centro Universitario de la Costa (CUCosta), through the PVIFF, pays a permanent homage to the world's cinematography and its stars.

Building an effective bridge between film creators and local public, as well as consolidating the film audiences in the region, are the PVIFF's main goals ever since its inception as "Mexican Film Exhibition in Puerto Vallarta" in 1995.

The Puerto Vallarta Film Festival in its 17th edition features Germany as the honor guest. between March 13 and 24, the PVIFF will screen for free over 45 films from Mexico and the world divided in sections:

“The Golden Iguana” is the PVIFF's highest award for the film world personalities, in recognition to their trajectory and contributions to the seventh art at a national and international level.
